Services Provided by Biomass
Rules, LLC
-
Biomass Rules Specialties - As a nation, we collect data on a tiny portion of biomass production. Mostly that data is related to
traditional agricultural and forestry commodities. Some biomass data is collected on wastes. If we only use the bits of
data that we have the way they have always been used, we will never get anywhere. Biomass Rules, LLC takes the limited data
we have to places we have never gone before. It is a new frontier.
-
Community Biomass Inventories - biomass inventories include an estimate of annual energy use, an inventory
of available biomass, and a review of conversion technologies. Based on these three
components, estimates of energy use that can
be replaced by biomass can be developed.
-
Biomass Economic Vision
- These projects involve taking available datasets and using them in new ways like standarizing energy, agricultural and waste product
prices based on energy content (Energy Values). Also looking for regulatory models that are working efficiently (achieving desired
outcome at a low cost), and fitting them to exising regulatory situations that are not working well.

Custom Analyses
- With a PhD in agricultural economics, I am a card-carrying quantitative analyst. I have experience in cleaning
survey data or finding obscure datasets for special projects. I can systematically develop an analysis or literature review on most
anything. Here are some of the site-specific topics I have analyzed:

Structure of livestock industry
-
Analysis of ag production/grower contracts
-
Allocation of Land Grant university spending on
production agriculture

Comparison of 2002 Census of Ag (USDA-NASS) land use
data with 2002
NRI (USDA-NRCS) land use data
